In summertime Hydrangeas flank the Italian gardens and English walled garden, they smother the rear of the hall and sweetly scented roses clamber the walls and gateways. A heady scent of blossom and lilac welcomes you in Spring and in Autumn the estate catches fire with deep gold and red as the ivy enveloping the hall and portico turns the deepest crimson.

From the front of the impressive Georgian hall overlooking our private nine-hole golf course, the expansive tennis lawn by our hidden outdoor dining terrace, the courtyard and romantic walled garden to our outside bar, lounge, botanical room and indoor bar, your guests have space and privacy to relax and explore in total privacy.

LET THE WEDDING BEGIN BEFORE THE WEDDING

There is something rather special about arriving at Wootton Hall and knowing that, for the next few days, the estate is yours to enjoy.

Your celebration might begin with a champagne breakfast at the Chef’s Table, a beautifully prepared picnic from the back of our Defender, afternoon tea in the kitchen garden or a relaxed forest supper and wine around the campfire.

Cocktail making in the kitchen garden or golf with drinks on every hole might be par for the course. Pull on some wellingtons and wander through the grounds. Find your favourite corner of the estate to watch the sun set as your closest friends and family descend. There is nowhere you particularly need to be.

Our wonderful botanical room at Wootton Hall is drenched in glorious light throughout the day and proves to be a genuinely breathtaking space for your guests to arrive into for dinner.

The estate flows effortlessly from our impressive Georgian hall, across the hidden gravel driveway to secret doorways in the Italian gardens which bring you bursting out into our English walled garden. Flanked by our courtyard and outdoor bar the walled garden provides the perfect backdrop to host your drinks reception before we welcome you and your guests to enjoy the botanical room’s elegant charm for the first time.

Recently renovated, the transformation of the interior to an elegant yet still authentic space is breathtaking. You are welcomed softly into the botanical room along with the breeze as the doors are opened and the grace and gentleness of the space is fully appreciated.

With a nod to the estate’s history, guests dine on handmade tables created from enormous slices of wood from a cedar tree that had graced the estate with its impressive presence for decades, before living on in the memories of our wonderful couples and guests as they raise their glasses in celebration.

The botanical’s structure with low beams creates the perfect opportunity for draping which brings a unique intimacy to the room.

A change of scene as evening falls with late-night food appearing just when everyone needs it.

The celebrations may be drawing to a close, but there's no need to rush the goodbyes.

Gather around the breakfast table the morning after, sharing stories and reliving the moments of the day before. For those feeling adventurous, a refreshing ice bath amongst the woodland offers a rather invigorating start to the day.

Or perhaps you're not quite ready for it all to end. Stay a little longer and bring everyone together for a relaxed bon voyage BBQ, with wonderful food, familiar faces and one last opportunity to savour being together.
